Digney Grant, Supporting SMEs in Northern Ireland
“Excludes Northern Ireland,” “NI subject to an additional charge,” and “Mainland UK only” - any small business owner from this part of the world will understand how frustrating it is to see these words in the fine print below an incredible offer they’ve seen advertised.
Unfortunately, this is something that applies across multiple industries and financial services (such as insurance) are no different.
At Digney Grant we have a unique offering for the Northern Ireland market. We are a homegrown company with over 40 years of experience in serving local businesses and, as a border-county business, we have a clear understanding of the complexity of cross-border trade and how this relates to your insurance cover and risk profile.
However, as part of one of the world’s biggest insurance groups, we have unrivalled buying power and access to an exclusive set of insurance products that we have hand-picked for the local market.
We’ll take care of it
We are an insurance broker and risk management business which means our highly trained account handlers will take the time to understand your business and what makes it unique. We’ll then go out and find the right level of cover and mix of insurance products for your business based on that customised profile. Our in-house risk management service can also work with you to reduce your risk profile through health and safety training, workplace audits and policy formulation. This can reduce both the likelihood of claims against your business and in many cases the cost of our premium.
We offer the full range of commercial insurance products including:
- Building Contractors & Tradesmen
- Manufacturing
- Retail & Hospitality
- Fleet (From 2 vehicles & upwards)
- Property Owners & Portfolios
- Professional Indemnity
- Public & Employers’ Liability
- Community Risks
- Directors & Officers
- Cyber
- Self-Build Cover (New/Renovation)
Part of the community
We’re an integral part of the community here in Newry, Down and Mourne and we’re expanding our reach across Northern Ireland, bringing the same level of personal service and insurance expertise to businesses in Armagh, Tyrone, Fermanagh and beyond.
We pride ourselves in not just being a service provider to local businesses but also a supporter and promoter of the business community here. We are involved with Newry Chamber, sponsoring their awards programme and taking part in regular chamber events where we’re always on hand to answer any questions you might have about your insurance.
We also celebrate and promote local enterprises by sponsoring the Fermanagh Herald Business Awards. This year we’ll be sponsoring the Growth Through Export Award and we’re looking forward to hearing the stories of ambitious local companies who are making a name for Fermanagh and Northern Ireland through export.
Your local team
Two experienced, key appointments are helping us bring the Digney Grant offering across Northern Ireland.
Rory Rafferty is our Commercial Development Manager who brings years of insurance expertise to his clients across the country. Rory is a respected figure in the local business community and is well known for his approachability and his knowledge of risk and insurance matters.
“With rising energy costs and inflationary pressure spelling troubling times ahead, it’s important for businesses across Fermanagh and Tyrone to have greater choice in their insurance providers,” explains Rory. “At Digney Grant we’re bringing a fresh and professional offering to the West of Northern Ireland. We’ll compare the market to get the right insurance cover for your business and take care of every detail for you, so you can focus on what’s most important- running your business.”
Account Executive Barry Mulrone joined the Digney Grant team last year, following an extensive career in insurance both north and south of the border.
GAA fans might recognise Barry’s name as a stalwart of Fermanagh GAA for over 10 years where he learned how to be a true team player. That experience and his positive reputation in the community in Fermanagh will stand him in good stead as we build our client portfolio further into the west.
“We want to be the first point of contact for local business people when it comes to insurance,” explains Barry. “There’s a diverse ecosystem of new start-ups and established businesses in the West of Northern Ireland, including some of the leading lights of Northern Ireland manufacturing, tech and hospitality. Our broader expertise and buying power is a great fit for partnering with this mix of businesses.”
